Disneyland
Um.the happiest place on earth..that's a no brainier.
Los Angeles County Museum of Art
I took an art class a few semesters ago and had to go to LACMA for a field trip. What a great experience. They have a great collection of paintings and etchings as well as a fabulous exhibit of old costumes.
Paramounts Great America
I grew up going to this theme park. The Demon is my all time favorite roller coaster. It is not open all year around like Disney, but if you are near Santa Clara in the summer, it is well worth a visit.
Universal Studios/City Walk
This is a great way to get a taste of the "Movie biz". You can visit the park itself and then pop across the way to "City Walk" and visit some fun shops and great restaurants. They have a great bar called "Howl at the Moon" that is a must see. It's a dueling piano bar. You have to see it to believe it. City walk is a great date place, although according to my best friend, I am no expert on that! :-)
Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
One of the most fun things to do in central California. There are great rides, a beautiful beach, an old fashioned carousel where you can try to pull a brass ring for a free ride, an old wooden roller coaster, miniature golf, concerts during the summer and the best salt water taffy you will ever find. Plus if you are a movie buff, this is where they filmed the "Lost Boys". Cool!
Monterey Bay Aquarium
This is the best aquarium in California. The touch pool is great and they have a lot of rare animals. The website features 5 live cameras, including a cool otter cam.
